East Carolina Cupola
East Carolina University
The Cupola, which sits at the heart of campus, owes its existence to the Austin building. The first structure on campus, it was adorned by a distinctive Cupola. The building was razed in 1969, but not forgotten. Through the many efforts of alumni and friends of the school, in 1996 a double size replica of the Cupola took its rightful place on campus, truly connecting East Carolina's past with its present and future.
